Within the framework of the World Education Congress celebrations which was held in Dubai recently, Dr Aboud bin Hamad al Sawafi, Chairman of Sohar University was honoured for the prominent contribution and outstanding role he is playing in the development of education.
The Faculty of Business, Sohar University won the Best Educational Institution award in the field of business management for its pioneering efforts aimed at educational progress. The faculty has recently introduced a master’s degree in business management as part of its effort to offer varied educational programmes.
“It is a big success for the university, we have always been endeavouring to achieve further advancements and reach high levels of quality education both,” said Prof Steven Hill, Dean, Faculty of Business, Sohar University.
The awards are fruit of years of relentless efforts led by Dr Aboud al Sawafi in various fields. Recently, the Academic Accreditation Authority issued a glowing report that reflected the university’s headway in the fields of academics and management.
Sohar University is the first Omani private university, it has achieved great successes since its inception ten years ago. The university has been providing the labour market with batches of well-trained and qualified graduates in various disciplines.
The university has also succeeded in establishing a robust rapport with a number of public and private institutions which paved the way for the graduates to train and to obtain job opportunities.
