Fri, 10 September 2010

MUSCAT — His Eminence Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad al Khalili, the Sultanate’s Grand Mufti, offered greetings to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos on the advent of Eid al Fitr, wishing His Majesty long life and good luck and God’s blessings to realise the aspirations and interests of the community.
He also offered his greetings to Muslims wishing them a happy and long life and good deeds. He called upon the Muslim Umah to stick to the book of Allah, which was revealed in the month of Ramadhan, to guide people for their best on Earth and here after.
He also called on all of us to be keen on preserving our fasting gains and realise Taqwah (God fearing) which protects us from wandering from the right path and ensure safety in this life and happiness in the Akhra (hereafter).
He said we should obey our Lord in all times and our worshippings should not be seasonal for they all similarly to fasting lead us to the truth of Taqwah, which results in harmony in life and strengthens the bonds of hearts and feelings and fraternity among all people.
The month of Ramadhan offers a practical opportunity to innumerable lessons. It is a kind of programming for us to identify and remain on the ‘Straight Path’ of righteousness that calls for goods deeds and thoughts in all our life.
Even if no one is around, people do not eat anything because they know that Allah sees and hears everyone all the time.
Allah alone is sufficient as a witness in all our affairs. Allah alone is sufficient as a disposer of affairs in human life. In Allah alone everyone must repose his trust. All things return
to Allah. — Oman Arabic
