Beirut — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is scheduled to make a two-day visit to Lebanon in October to discuss relations, including his country's offer of military assistance to the Lebanese army against Israeli threats.
Ahmadinejad is expected to meet with his Lebanese counterpart and other officials, according to a Lebanese government source.
The Iranian leader is scheduled to arrive in Beirut on October 13, the source said.
The source said Ahmadinejad has expressed a desire to visit southern Lebanon and tour areas that witnessed fierce clashes between Hezbollah and the Israeli army during the 33- day war in 2006. – dpa
