By His Eminence Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad al Khalili -
Worship is the tax of slavery to Allah. People should ever remain in the servitude of Allah the Exalted because He is the Owner, the Creator, and the Lord of all that exists. Allah created human beings from nothing and provided innumerable blessings for his existence on earth. He introduced him to life and the demands of self. He showed man the straight path to win Paradise.
“O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah) who created you and those who were before you so that you may become Al- Muttaqun (the pious)”
“O you who believe! Observing As-Saum (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you many become Al Muttaqun (the pios)”. He also mentioned Zakah and says “Take Sadaqah (alms) from their wealth in order to purify them and sanctify them with it, and invoke Allah for them. Verily! Your invocations are a source of security for them, and Allah is All-Hearer All-Knower”.
He also associated Hajj with belief and says “And perform properly (i.e. all the ceremonies according to the ways of Prophet Muhammed, the Hajj and Umrah (i.e. pilgrimage to Makkah) for Allah. But if you are prevented (from completing them), sacrifice a Hady (animal, i.e. a sheep, a cow, or a camel) such as you can afford.
And whosoever of you is ill or has an ailment in his scalp (necessitating shaving), he must pay a Fidyah (ransom) of either observing Saum (fasts) (three days) or giving Sadaqah (charity — feeding six poor persons) or offering sacrifice (one sheep). Then if you are in safety and whosoever performs the Umrah in the months of Hajj, before (performing the Hajj, (i.e. Hajj at Tamattu’ and Al Qiran), he must slaughter a Hady such as he can afford, but if he cannot afford it, he should observe Saum (fasts) three days during the Hajj and seven days after his return (to his home), making ten days in all. This is for him whose family is not present at Al Masjid Al Haram (i.e. non-resident of Makkah)”.
This proves that all these deeds are associated with strong belief and fear from Allah. By this, stability and harmony are achieved.
