MUSCAT — His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Supreme Commander, has issued a Royal pardon for a number of prisoners who had been earlier convicted in different cases. The number of prisoners who were honoured from the Royal pardon is 182 Omanis and 96 expatriates of different nationalities. The Royal pardon by His Majesty comes on the occasion of Eid al Fitr, considering the circumstances of the families of prisoners and their social circumstances after they have served varying terms during which they were subjected to reform and rehabilitation programmes. — ONA
