MUSCAT — The Tender Board yesterday awarded tenders worth RO 35,147,632 (RO 35.14 million) for the following projects: Construction of an electricity line (220 kv tension) to transmit electricity from Sohar Power Plant (second stage) to Saih al Makarim power plant in Sohar in Al Batinah Region (RO 13,629,000); Extension of electric cables (11 kv tension) from Al Athaiba main plant to feed The Wave Tourism project (RO.6,412,329); Supply of surgical tools for the Ministry of Health (RO 2,770,212); Supply of rice (RO 2,689,987); Construction of warehouses for the Public Authority for Electricity and Water in Southern Al Mabela in the Wilayat of Seeb in Muscat Governorate (RO 1,682,163).

The Tender Board also awarded projects like removal of plants and levelling of the site for the construction of housing units in the Wilayat of Suwaiq in Al Batinah Region (second stage) (RO.1,288,870); Supply, installation and operation of MRI and supportive medical equipment at the Royal Hospital (RO 1,179,803); Additional works for the construction of water transfer line from the Wilayat of Samayil to the Wilayat of Izki (RO.1,159,999); Additional works for water supply project to the wilayat of Adam (RO.1,134,761); Removal of plants and levelling of the site for the construction of housing units in the Wilayat of Al Khabourah in the Al Batinah Region (second stage) (RO.686,675); Extension of water desalination plant in Hitam in the Al Wusta Region (RO.500,780); Additional works for the construction of booster station and network for pumping and distributing manufacturing water in Sohar Industrial Port (RO.401,455); leasing two buildings for the Omani Haj Commission in Saudi Arabia (RO 390,174); Maintenance and repair of GIS, 132 kv tension for Madinat al Sultan Qaboos station and Barka Transformer Plant (RO 309,573); Removal of plants and levelling of the site for the construction of housing units in the Wilayat of Al Musannah (second stage ) (RO 253,301); Availing electric power to feed the stations for Omantel to ensure continuity of communication services at the areas damaged by the adverse weather conditions (RO 186,615); Additional works for the expansion of Bowshar water tank and its associated works (RO 175,687); Leasing a building for the Health Ministry for office use in the Northern Al Ghubrah area for one year (RO 156,000); Removal of plants and levelling of the site for the construction of housing units in the Wilayat of Barka in the Al Batinah Region (second stage) (RO 130,680).

The board also opened bids for many tenders and also approved a number of Variation Orders related to the on-going projects, reviewed a number of topics related to projects referred by ministries and governmental departments and took appropriate decisions in their regard. — ONA
