MUSCAT — Port of Salalah has announced the appointment of Peter Ford (pictured) as Chief Executive Officer.
Ford who joins Port of Salalah from APM Terminals brings more than 16 years of experience in the shipping industry both on vessels and in terminal management. A graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy as well as the Lloyd’s Maritime Academy and holding a BSc in Marine Transport and Business and an MBA in Global Management, Ford is also a Magnum graduate of APM Terminals and has achieved certification in numerous management and port executive proficiencies.
During his tenure with APM Terminals, Ford has held executive positions with the company in the US, Caribbean and Europe in fields including port operations, global acquisitions and global strategy. “With his extensive shipping background, management and leadership skills Ford is an excellent choice to lead the Port of Salalah through the next phase of its development,” the company said in a press statement.
