BARKA — His Eminence Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad al Khalili, Grand Mufti of the Sultanate, presided over the opening of Al Salam Mosque in the Wilayat of Barka yesterday. Built on an area of 6,800 metres, the new mosque is the largest of its kind in the wilayat and it can accommodate more than 10,000 worshippers at one congregational prayer. Al Khalili said that the construction of mosques is considered an embodiment of faith. — ONA
