SHANGHAI — Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the Majlis Addawla, yesterday visited pavilions of brotherly and friendly countries taking part in Shanghai Expo 2010.
Al Mantheri visited the pavilions of the
UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iran and South Korea.
On Thursday evening, Al Mantheri presided over a musical programme held on the sidelines of Shanghai Expo 2010 in celebration of the Sultanate’s Nation Day.
The ceremony coincided with the Sultanate’s celebration of
the Renaissance Day, the July 23 Anniversary, said Mohsin bin Khamis al Balushi, Adviser at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The Nation Day was devoted to highlight the Sultanate’s achievements, said Al Balushi.
The Ministry of Information, represented by Oman News Agency, took part in a photography exhibition held on the Nation Day of the Sultanate at Shanghai Expo 2010. The exhibition showcased photographs depicting various aspects of the Sultanate’s civilisation and the Renaissance led by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, bringing about economic, cultural and social development over the past four decades.
Also, on the sidelines of the celebration, an Omani fashion show representing costumes of all wilayats was held. A folk troupe performed on the occasion. –— ONA
